Welcome to Ben’s Cloud

Allow me to properly introduce myself. My name is Ben, and this is my cloud—welcome to Ben’s Cloud.

This site and channel are spaces where I share my thoughts, active projects, and day-to-day experiences in technology. But before diving deep into server racks, terminal commands, or home-lab hardware, I want to give you a clear picture of who I am, what drives me, and what I hope to accomplish through this platform.

Who I Am: Faith, History, and Perspective

First and foremost, I am a sinner saved by the grace of Jesus Christ, who died and rose again for my sins. That foundational faith shapes my worldview and influences everything I do.

Beyond my faith, I am deeply interested in history, philosophy, and understanding how human systems work. I don't claim to be an expert on any of it—and while I don't obsess over daily political cycles, as the old saying goes, politics is certainly interested in me! Politically, I lean right—somewhere in the conservative-libertarian space—and I won't shy away from touching on those themes when relevant.

However, the specific passion that brings us together here is my love for Linux, open-source software, and technology.

The Mission: Bridging Tech Literacy and Digital Stewardship

My core goal with Ben’s Cloud is to break down concepts like Linux, desktop environments (DEs), distributions, and self-hosting, keeping them as accessible and practical as possible.

Working with open-source tools has afforded me a vital level of digital autonomy—the freedom from relying entirely on massive tech corporations that may not have your best interests at heart.

"I’ve noticed a real gap in the modern church. Sometimes Christians can be hesitant around modern technology, or there’s simply a lack of general tech literacy. I want to help bridge that gap."

I want to equip Christians—and really anyone seeking self-reliance—with the knowledge needed to step back, take control of their digital lives, and build infrastructure they actually own and control.
